ICCA School Greening Project

The Isiolo County Conservancies Association (ICCA) is empowering young learners to embrace conservation through its School Greening Project. Piloted in Leparua, Nasuulu, and Nakuprat-Gotu Community Conservancies, the initiative promotes tree planting, school nurseries, and conservation education.

Recently, ICCA, led by Conservation Education Coordinator Samuel Ekitui and supported by partners including the Kenya Forest Service and Grevy’s Zebra Trust, carried out tree-planting activities at Kiwanja, Kambi Garba, and St. Paul Primary Schools. This effort fosters environmental stewardship while safeguarding Isiolo’s biodiversity for future generations.
